Any experience with using too much expanding foam?

I have a void I want to fill with no-nonsense fire rated expanding foam.

I filled it per the instructions but went a bit overboard and used too much. I shaved off the excess against the wall with a knife, however the "middle" of the foam is still gelatinous after 12 hours. My guess is no air reached it for the curing process - will it harden over the next few days, or do I need to start again?

Thanks

If it doesn't go off you could make holes and spray water at it. It cures with moisture (normally the moisture in the air)

It's always best to leave it for a day (or maybe 2 in your case) and then cut the excess off. You'll know better next time.
