Hi folks,

Is there any harm in limiting heating by setting the divertor valve to hot water only?

It won't be for long either.

It would be kind of hard to hide the Honeywell CM927.

Thanks.

Because ladies in the house turn the heating on when it it not necessary so we (me and dad) have told them to only turn the fire on if they feel cold instead of switching on the heating.

It is going to be 14C tomorrow but I am sure they will be they will be tempted to switch the heating on in addition to turning it up high thinking that the house will warm up quicker

There's a simple modification that can be made to ecotecs that will solve this problem.

Turn down the heating flow temperature knob to minimum, before drilling two 7mm holes at the 9 o'clock position. After that insert a cheap padlock and hide the key

Seriously though, it's not worth it. If you prevent the women in your house from turning the heating on, you'll have much more to worry about than a bit of wasted gas :D

give them something to do then they won't get cold.

get a tamper proof room stat.

Do you find they always leave doors open too!

Yes   I hate it.

Now can anyone tell me if it's okay to do what I asked?

I am only going to to it when it's quite mild.

I don't pay any bills but I am still concerned.

Simple solution is to buy a Drayton Digistat plus 3.

That way you can program the temperature for 6 different times of day, and when it gets there off it goes.

For example 07:30 20c, 12:00 18c 14:00 19c, 17:30 20c 10:30 7c
