Hi

I hope you guys don't mind me asking you this. Below is a pic of a one bed terraced house. It is part single storey and part double. The house extends from the left edge of the single storey part (where you see the cardboard box on the floor) to where you see the satellite dish.

I know nobody can predict the views of planners but can anybody see a possible angle for development here? Many thanks

It could be rejected on the basis of infilling, and forming a bland mass of terrace

Or it may be viewed as not being any worse if the street is already a mass of bland terracing

There may be scope to add a floor to the two storey element, but you will likely not be able to in-fill the gap as a whole on the basis of the existing windows, which are presumably to habitable rooms.

The trouble with confined sites like this is that its often very difficult to get what you want out of the structures that are there - you may have a better chance of increasing your space if you start from scratch.

Its really quite impossible to give any detailed informtion though because there are any number of factors that could be in play that may affect (or support) development here.

Thanks.

They are all terraced properties but the others are all period (unlike this one) so actually have character.

Building over the single storey would be problematic as Luis says due to those windows facing it by I also wondered about adding another storey on the two storey element to make it the same as the height of the buildings on the left and right.

But I appreciate its difficult to comment further.

Thanks again
