Any suggestions for a tap bodge?

We have fitted a Crosswater Mike wall-mounted bath tap. Here:

The spout is a little too long. We have asked Crosswater who reply that there is no shorter version available for this model and you can't substitute with another as the fitting where the spout is fitted into the ring, is unique. It has two O rings and a groove, which takes a small grub screw in the ring.

Anybody got any suggestions for shortening it? I thought about cutting it off at a nice angle but that would expose unchromed brass.

youve both missed the obvious, cut in the middle then take futher 1-2" off, and tape back together :rolleyes: :LOL: :LOL:
