Dear all,

My bathroom tap recently started leaking - a significant dribble when completely turned off. We have only recently had it installed (by a plumber) so this is rather annoying. I'd rather not have to get him back to fix it.

They are 1/4 turn bath mixer taps. They contain 3/4" ceramic disc cartridges, similar to the picture below.

Upon inspection, the red O-ring has split - I think this could be causing the dribble??

My question - can I use any o-ring that fits (I can see selection packs at both screwfix and B&Q) or do I need something specific for hot water? My o-ring is slightly different to the picture - it sits in a groove in the brass rather than flush on the bottom.

Many thanks in advance for any help and advice.
Cheers,
Dan
