Hi.
After a number of years thinking about it, we are finally getting our 30 years old back boiler replaced by a new system. Our water pressure isnt high enough for a combi, so we are going with a condensing boiler.
Because of having no money up front, we are going with Carillion who do a 0% for a year deal.

I know they are new to boiler installs, but have any of you hear good/bad things about them yet? They plan on installing a Baxi model which i gather is a cheaper brand but should be fine should it? Its got a 5 year guarantee and 5 years of servicing.

Carillion were formed from an acquisition of Eaga heating.

They had a reputation for some very expensive and poor quality installations taking full advantage of Government Grants under the Warmfront scheme.

Most people here would suggest you avoid them!

Do a web search on "Eaga complaints" also "Warmfront complaints" !

They must be the most complained about company in the heating business!

these guys don't know what there talking about

you will be in safe hands with them they have a very good structure in
place to make sure you get what you pay for.

Is it the same structure as Warmfront and Eaga had?

I,ll say...stay clear...

Same guys still working there...i can only speak for what i have seen and i have never seen a decent eaga install...ever.

Chances are you could get a recommended local installer in, get a bank loan to pay them and get a higher quality job and be quite a few quid better off at the end of the day.

I agree!

Not often that you get a sensible and polite comment from anyone in Berkshire though!

Carillon appear to be carrying on where Aega ( Iguanana, Warmfront ) stopped.
If that is the case, you are likely to regret your choice for a long time.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would come back and see you were all right!

Carillion seem very dodgy to me. The boiler install seems to have been ok, although I cant quite get the temperature correct, but they seem to have lost all interest in me since i paid.

I paid upfront for servicing to keep things running safely, which was a few hundred pounds, but shoehorned in my the salesman. Now, boiler installs are not listed on their website, and all the phone numbers I have called have no record of me using them so I am unable to get any of the servicing I paid for! That wasnt a cheap option.

The last person I spoke to asked me if I have tried calling Baxi!

I feel a bit silly using Carillion, so never again!

as long as you have proof of what you paid for then you can either demand the service or contact local trading standards or your local CAB office for advice. Either way if the company is still running in anyway there's no reason why you shouldn't get what you paid for or your money back.
