it's December in about 5 minutes.....anyone got their tree up yet?

i'm out on a Christmas do on Friday !!! just don't feel right !!!

I bet you put a black fairy on top of your tree keeping in line with the pc brigade.

Our activities coordinator put the Christmas tree and decorations up in our carehome yesterday (and was continuing with them today) Involved a few of the residents, helping to decorate the tree. Was nice to see some of them joining in, and speaking to them, they are looking forward to Christmas. I'm providing the entertainment at the Christmas party for the residents (playing keyboards and singing), so I'm just starting to get into festive mode. We have our Christmas Fair on Saturday too, (just a bit of fundraising for the residents fund,,, Takes them out on day trips etc)

A small cartoon in Private Eye a couple of weeks ago summed it up - "Christmas is for months, not just Christmas".

I try, whenever possible, to refuse to buy anything from shops that come out with anything festive before the start of December. Needless to say, this becoming increasingly difficult to do :?

New year sales will be up and running by the end of the week, and mid December will mark Valentine Cards. Hopefully, there won't be too many Easter eggs before Xmas eve

Asda are already preparing for the influx of Easter Eggs Canta.
Your a teacher, so it must be very confusing for your pupils to break up for the Summer Holidays, only for Tesco's to be already advertising "Back to School " stuff before they even finish for those holidays.

True, and depressing

Mind you, the government are already advertising my pension, and that's the best part of 20 years away

Ahh but with all those 6 months on full pay, you could take off (with a friendly doctor). They are technically only ten working years away.

Simple little schoolchild puzzle - when was the last time that New Year's Eve and New Year's Day were in the same year?

Here's one for you,,,, When did Good Friday fall in July???????????

Assuming we're talking western calendars, when the Gregorian Calendar was adopted, at a guess.

Sorry, just did some research and the question should have been, when did Good Friday fall on a Monday??? (too much beer tonight)
