Elite TD (dual pir):
Twin Dual Element Detection

Premier Elite QD (quad pir):
Genuine Quad Element Detection

Elite DT (Dual Technology Detector):
Volumetric PIR & Microwave Range

When would you choose one over the other, and is there a better overall choice? They are for a room that has some hot cooling machines (that generate quite a bit of heat, like a radiator).

Well I start with a QD then if needs must a DT.

a DT is infra red and microwave, in general this option is used in environments more likely to false alarm, Garage or conservatory for example.

As for the difference between a dual element and a quad element other than dual element having two sensors and the quad having 4 sensors.

with the QD two of the four sensors have to be activated to get a positive alarm response.

Think there are some explanations on here how pirs work in general by Breezer and bernardgreen that may be worth you reading
