I nearly signed up to a channel called peacock in the USA recently. You can't watch 3pm Saturday games in this country and people are doing this apparently. The thing that stopped me was payment was in dollars so I wasn't sure if it's possible. Does she know much about this?

Newer Amazon firesticks have a different operating system loaded onto them, and supposedly can't be used to put dodgy stuff on.

This was on the news, a few months ago.

Thanks, I don't know much about firesticks I'll try and find out.
Troypoint.com gives out plenty of 'how to's'

Buy an old one or plenty of other devices that can do the same thing.

Don't buy an old one: they degrade noticeably, in terms of performance.

As Mottie says though, there are plenty of other brands that do not use the new operating system, and can handle the dodgy apps.

Do your research (y)

I’ve had my 4Kmax stick and Fire TV cube for years and can’t say I’ve noticed any slow down of performance in them. Earlier ones, yes, they can take a while to find and load a film or programme but once it has loaded there’s no difference in film performance.
