I seem to have upset a couple of posters, for which I apologise. Perhaps I should keep my opinions to myself. I will refrain from using the 'i' word as much as possible in future; maybe I should refrain from responding altogether, when it isn't positive.

However, with one or two exceptions, the electricians I meet are a long way short of meeting the level of understanding that is considered acceptable to be designing and testing installations. This is fine when they are under supervision and many are far more skilled than I will ever be, but they should not be let loose on the public when they can't differentiate earthing from bonding or understand the difference between the types of fault current.

This is not an excuse, however, for 'having a go' at posters, so, sorry to anybody offended by my brusque dismissal of their, no doubt, good intentions.
