applying blue grit weeks before skimming?

Due to the plaster shortage, i am likely to not get hold of multifinish for a few weeks.

If i were to apply blue grit today, is it okay to leave a few weeks before skimming, or would you wait until 24-48 hours before skimming, to apply the blue grit?

Don't believe there would be issues it's just used as a key after all.

Why are you so eager to crack on ? Just wait , I know it's frustrating I have a ceiling I need to skim so I'm in the same boat you are
