Ariston e combi evo Auto

Hello,
can anybody please help me with how to set the Auto button on Ariston E-combi evo boiler?

I know I can press it to activate it. But if I press +/- on the heating side(right), there's a scale with zero going to plus and minus.

Does anybody know how it works and if it needs to be adjusted? If it is anything to help the boiler work more effectively than I would like to use it, but like I said, I don't understand it.

Have you got the manuals? I'm not sure they help very much! Seems quite complicated to me. In case you haven't, links here to user and installer manuals. Auto function covered on page 8 of user manual and page 37 on installer manual. Hopefully somebody will interpret.
