Please bare with me this could end up being quite lengthy...

About one week ago a gas engineer came out to fix our boiler, not 100% sure what the problem was as I wasn't around at the time, but from what i understand the pressure had got too high and the boiler had stopped working, and the same time my gf asked him to look at why we are only getting luke warm water from it. He managed to get the boiler running but said we would need a new heat exchanger to improve the hot water situation as we rent my gf wanted to discuss it with our landlord first besides the water is just about bearable. any way the heating worked all that evening, but when we got up the next morning the pressure guage had dropped to 0, naturally I just filled it back up again to the correct pressure (between 1 and 2), and all was well.

Several days later while filling the sink with hot water there was several loud watery clunking sounds and the boiler died. On checking the pressure I noticed it had again dropped to 0.

I reset and topped up the boiler again (between 1 and 2) I cautiously turned the heating on, this time the boilers temp gauge would go from 25 degrees c to 60 degrees c, then cut out, then drop back to 25 degrees c in under a minute and it just repeated this continuously, I ran the boiler for 15 minutes and this cycle just continued so I thought better of it and turned it off. Finally, the next day I tried to turn it on again and now nothing happens at all it won't even reset but the pressure has remained constant since the last time i topped it up.

Sorry for the length of this but Any help\ suggestions?

As you are a tenant then obviously you cannot try to repair it yourself.

You must get the landlord to send someone competent asap.

Tell the LL that there is no heat or hot water and if its not fixed soon you will have to withold the rent! ( Or move into a hotel at his expense if its not fixed within 2-3 days. )
