GBP, what a scottish expression.

I wonder if Billy Connelly know of it.

I think Tony is on the right lines.

The gas pressure is the differential pressure taken from two sampling tubes on top of the boiler read with an manometer of 0.2mbar acuracy. Gas valve and pots on pcb adjsuted as per instructions privy to manufacturers engineers but also provided with new parts sensetive to such adjustment, i.e. gas valve. Co2 adjusted by pot on pcb, and ch output modulated down as per instructions.

I don't know which Gianoni heat ex the Ariston uses, whether it is the plastic sided one Baxi use or the all stainles one others use, but in the Alphas the sight glass top right in front.

I may be talking gobbledegook because I have no idea what this Ariston boiler is, or whether they are Gianoni players or have made their own heat ex..

That said a pcb out of the box will normally work and not be far out of adjustment. But I am not sure about a gas valve as it may be used for many makes of boiler all of which employ it differently.

free Oxygen tends to bond diatomically, to form O2
Can bond with superglue if you like, it's still a molecule.
No compounds are atoms.

Paul, the boiler uses SIT 848 Sigma gas valve. I downloaded the pdf to get to grips on how this valve operates.

Then I called Sit (UK) to be told this valve is 'Italian' sourced, therefore they know nothing about it.

The valve does have a plastic tube connected to it. Other end fits onto a spigot on burner manifold.

The failure is due to bad connection between the plug and valve coils. While voltage is present on the plug, coils do not see the voltage, hence fail to operate the gas valve.

Have walked away from this boiler as (am told) parts come from Italy (no store in Britain) and take three days or more.

Am also making enquiries with view to train up for Ariston steamers.

I have got a SIT 848 in the cupboard. They are used in most of the Itallian band A boilers using the Gianonni burner/HE assembly.

A starting point is often to wind the adjuster fully in and withdraw it 2.5 turns and that is usually close enough to get it to ignite and enable you to set the CO² to about 9%.

I am going to three of them tomorrow!

I had another sniff about. The same valve is fitted to the Biasi Riva Advance HE. Might be better to go on their course as last time I did one of their courses they didn't charge for it and even took us out to Pizza Hut for dinner

Well spoted Softus that I had moved an "n" in Giannoni.

You can read about them at:-

http://www.giannoni.fr/En_pages/En_echangeurinox.html

But its was not the maker of cheap rad valves or a species of Pizza at Pizza Express !

I expect that Mike really took Slug out to lunch ( rather than dinner ) for the eat as much as you like at the Pizza Hut. Next time I fancy a pizza I had better book to go on a free Biasi lunch. Better start brushing up on my Italian!
