The Microgenus is quite a reliable combi - but sludge can kill any combi.
It's taken 7 years so maybe I've been lucky.

The inhibitor requires replacing every 4 years. All you need do is add it, no flush needed. The magnaclean will help a hell of a lot.

I'm getting the red light showing on the boiler which appears to be overheating problems
Now I'm not so sure as the red light showing refers to an ignition problem with reference to the user manual which can be found here :-

The red light in question is 'F' on page 6 of the manual.
BTW This is an intermittent problem.

Cheers for the info, it looks like I'll give BG a call to sort it out.
Just a thought, there is a small wire in the centre with a plastic sleeved connection which gets in the way when removing parts and can get slightly disconnected which would give you your problem and that light, check to make sure the two spade connections are tight.
