Ariston Microgenus combi boiler

Very confused. my boiler heats for 10 seconds then cuts off for 2 minutes then heats for 10 seconds etc...Is this normal for the central heating ??? THere are no error messages but its surely working too hard??? There is an in line 22mm strainer on the return to the boiler...if this was blocked or needed cleaning do I need to drain the entire system to get out the mesh??

I'd say it wasn't working hard enough tbh.

What's it like on hot water?

its called short cycling lack of water flow through the boiler is the main cause

The Hot water is fine as this is heated on demand and have had no problems here

Yes...it sounds like it would be short cycling, if I look at the in line strainer for debris how do I do this..do I have to empty the CH system? Thanks Guys
