Hi,

Its been recently serviced so is certainly clean, but probably 1 out of 5 ignition instances fails for both HW and heating (either both or individully on).

If I turn the boiler off for a short period >1 minute, then back on, the burner will then usually light. When the boiler fails to light I do not hear any spark type activity. When it does light I do hear the crack of a spark.

Could there be a pilot light issue?
What else could cause intermittent burner ignition failure? Sensor or thermistor need replacing?

Thanks in advance.

A pilot light?

I think that the obvious advice is to call back the person who serviced it!

Yeah get the guy who seviced it back.

Could be something as simple as he's knocked the ignition sensing lead off or poor contact hence the intermittence (<<is that a word !!)
