I’m laying artificial grass close to a fence that has concrete around the posts. I’m planning on putting a 4 inch timber edge board around the area to be grassed but the concrete will be in the way in the corners. What is the correct way of dealing with this?

What is the recommended depth to dig out? It will be used as a pet enclosure so won’t have a lot of heavy foot traffic. Also what is the best thing to use as the sub base? Can I just use sharp sand and a weed membrane?

Apologies for all of the questions, I’ve seen so many conflicting posts on this kind of thing and it’s confusing me!

Are you asking how to treat the grass, or the wood? Can you attach a picture? Are you asking for opinions on how to make it look better, or do you know how you want it to look but need advice on how to get there?

That's what I did, and still looks alright after 5 years.

and used it for new puppy too last year. Certainly lighter and flatter, but better than mud.
