Asbestos air testing?

A few years ago my parents stripped wallpaper from walls containing white asbestos, they didn't wear masks, etc and hoovered up the dust because they said it is least dangerous kind. They then plastered over these walls. They're currently stripping wallpaper from other rooms and planning on re-wallpapering, they claim there's no asbestos in the walls but you can see fibres on a few. Also, in the corner of one room the artex ceiling is crumbling and they just hoover up the dust. Do you think an air test would be worth it, I'm just concerned for my family if we're living in the fibres all of the time? Also does anyone know the cost of air testing in the UK as we can't afford to spend too much.

It is not possible to "See" Asbestos fibers, to view them you need a Microscope

White A is indeed "least dangerous"

As for air tests? suggest you use the Net and search in your area?
