Astra 1.4 2006 ABS problem

Hi there,
got a problem on car ABS light randomly on / off , ALSO every now and again speedo gives flicker down then up again.
Tonight ABS appeared to cut i when lightly breaking - thentried to repeat and it wouldn't.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Dirt between the notched wheel (that turns with the road wheel) and the stationary wheel sensor. Air line and ensure all the notches are clean.

Might be worth keeping the gearbox sensor as a possible cause, when the speedo has a fault. Check gearbox sensor and wheel sensors for bad/corroded connections. Just remember, each road wheel has an ABS sensor. Reading the fault codes might narrow it down a bit.

My boss has a similar problem on his Corsa. Sometimes he can be sitting at the lights with the speedo doing 120mph. I think his ABS light comes on too. The fault codes indicated a duff brake light switch. THis has been changed and unsurprisingly hasn't cured the fault. The car is driveable but the garage reckons he has a faulty ECU.
