Undertaking barn conversion and have reached the point where I can start installing stud partitions to frame out the rooms.
The property is an old Linhay barn (not listed!) with classic king post trusses supporting purlins then rafters then slates.
My question is whether it is ok to screw the stud walls into the king post trusses for additional support. Some of the sections cross at right angles, other run underneath/parallel with the lower chord. The roof is already fully loaded and the trusses are established.
Lots of info on using truss clips with modern roofing trusses but can’t find anything about king post.
