Average lamp life 2D 38W

I realise it will all depends, but is 20 months not very long?? I'm buying branded lampss

The lights are fitted in a communal stairway with time switches. The stairs have natural light so the lights aren't required all the time. 7 lights, 5 switches, 8 flats on 3 floors

Any thoughts??

At night, constant switching on and off perhps?

As a slight side note, where I used to work we had a fluoro tube in the boiler room that was on constantly. In the 3 years I was there it never got changed.

The light fittings were there already and are emergency ones so I think I might suggest setting all the electronic timer switches to 20 mins to see if this helps. I think that at night though the lights will be switched on any number of times... (8 flats, 2 people per flat - in from work, out again, in again....)
