I have BC approval to remove wall between kitchen and dining room.

The Kitchen has existing concrete floor.

The Dining Room has existing suspended timber floor.

Unfortunately the Dining room floor is slightly lower than kitchen.

I was thinking of removing the timber floor and replacing with concrete, allowing full floor to be levelled ahead of tiling.

The question is do I need to get BC approval to do this.

Thanks

thanks,

i did not mention changing the floor in my building notice, when i said i was removing the wall.

would i need another notice , or might it be seen as part of the same job ?

i am not committed to do it and probably wont if it means forking out another 180 qjuid.

It would be morally reprehensible of me to suggest that you remove the wall, get it signed off, then just do the floor afterwards without telling anyone, so I won't.

can you amend the notice once it's submitted?

Can't really see a problem with that; most authorities base their fee on the cost of the work. There is usually a minimum cost, and you may well be under that even when including the floor.

no, no, no.. If you're going to imply potentially illegal courses of action, you must ask it as a question,!
