Dear forum this is my ongoing project... If you have any suggestions of if you see anything that I am doing wrong I would like to hear it from you.

I'm an electronic engineer and before buying my first home I never touched a brick.

My wife she is 7 months pregnant of our first baby therefore I need another room.

We bought this house in feb 2009 and always thought about changing kitchen and bathroom.

I started by removing the carpet from the actual bathroom ( year carpet in the bathroom yack) and replaced it with tiles. Being my first time I have used the cheapest tiles I could find and all was easier then I thought.

And added a towel radiator (Bought all the tools and first time plumbing copper pipes) :).

The next step was to remove red and yellow wall paper from the lounge and you don't want to know what was underneath... holes , graffiti like old paint ( i was pretty scared that some archaeologist could stop me from working on it)... and so... with that huge amount of holes and scratches I had 2 options
1 to put back wall paper (not really my cup of tea)
2 get a plaster to redo my walls.
Got a quotation and at that time I could not afford it as I spent all I had saved on this house.
So I decide to take the challenge and start my own plastering experience...
Made 25000 mistakes and took me 10 evenings to do 3 walls but at the end I was satisfied :)

Took a good year of rest and now I'm starting with a big project... As the title says " I need a room for my up coming first baby" :)

I thought I could convert my actual bathroom into a small bedroom and cut the L from the kitchen to do a new bathroom.

Link the pics from your album rather than having them appear full size in the thread, I'd need about a 42" monitor to view some of them. ;)

Yes, please put the images in a local album and link the thumbnails with the 'DIYnot BBCode' value. They get shrunk to a reasonable size too. I tried looking at the images on imageshack but my old laptop takes about 20 seconds to render one of their pages!

I hope those downlights are fire rated.

Look! it's 2 am and still up!!! I need to learn this and that!!! it's hard work but make you feel proud and satisfied!!! :) and more then anything i'm doing for my first baby... But also I got the excuse to buy all the tools I always wanted without having the wife moan about it

today I got my wall hunged bidet and toilet + frames... Tomorrow 8 am I'm going to start to do the draining bit...

It' took me a whole day to core drill a hole underground to meet my outside guttering to meet my outflow pipe (I didn't want to have those pipes showing outside the house).

So I got left draining in the kitchen and in the bath, basin, bidet, and toilet (those I'm lucky as the new toilet it's built in behind the old toilet.

Then I'm thinking to rewire new kitchen, bathroom, and living room. once those spaces are complete I will knock down the old toilet and start my baby room (already partitioned). I will try to post more picture (resized) later in the week.... if any one want to come for a coffee more then welcome... I'm in dagenham ;)
Good night
