I've just moved into a house that has a back boiler. After a few days of having to overdrive the water heating system to actually get some hot water to wash with(!) i decided to sit down and try and work out the problem avec torch (why do they put the timers in such dark awkward places?!)
I thought i had cracked it! Central heating to come on when we need it (which we don't at the moment so goes on and off at the same time) and the water heating to come on in the morning for 3 hours and in the evening for 2 hours.
Come this morning, i was all excited about having a hot shower where the water should have already been on for the 3 hours in the morning, but no, still cold.
I am flumoxed..... what am I doing wrong?
The only other thing i can think of is that the water and the central heating need to be on together for it to work, but surely that would be madness?
If anyone can shed some light on this problem i would really appreciate it!
Thanks
Holly
