Hi

I have just put in some new french windows and I want to get a good lock. In my old house we had one where bolts would engage in both the top and bottom of the frame if you turned the handle 45 degrees. You could then use the key to lock the handle in this "engaged" position.

Does anybody know what this type of lock is called and who sells them. The door is approx 2.6m high so I may need a special one. Thanks

Surface mounted espagnoilette locking (spelling may be wrong) you cut the bars to length so may be ok - dont buy cheap the handle will shear off.

Thanks very much for this. I am looking for ones that are actually fitted into the wood, rather than surface mounted but should be able to find them now.
