My husband is trying to fit a back to wall toilet to a flexible pan connector but every time he pushes it on the connector springs off. Any ideas please???

Does the pan connecter fit on ok without it being attached to the soil pipe 
If it does then you need to realign the pipework a bit so that it fits squarely.
