Balancing issue since moving from vented to unvented.

Have a look under the fire towards the LHS...you should see the main boiler thermostat knob and piezo ignitor and to the left the overheat thermostat reset button and bracket.

I cannot see it, it is missing.

I found a shop with the part in stock but they only sell the actual thermostat (other parts such as pipe, metal plate are missing):



Can a plumber still install it?

You need the full kit...the sensing phial inserts into a tube that's soldered to the new flow pipe stub and the overheat stat wires connect into the thermocouple circuit.

resolving the issue with my "blocked" cold feed,

we have established that you no longer have a cold feed as you previously had a spartan, put the x400 in anywhere you want it just gets diluted into the system water anyway

In your diagram, you have the pump (circulator) on the return ? is this correct ?

That's correct, the pump moves the water towards the boiler.
