Hi,

I've recently changed my old lead pipes and had them all replaced as well as having a new bathroom suite fitted.
Since then, the cold tap in the bathroom sink makes a banging noise when it is turned on. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does, it is very noisy and sounds like somebody is drilling in the wall!
It is only happens with this tap and I don't know if it is relevant but the bathroom is upstairs.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Is this tap fed from the tank or direct mains? Could be too much pressure, or feed pipe to it is blocked or kinked.

Alternatively, could be the washer / headgear needs replacing /attention.
The fact that it is only happening to this 1 tap suggests the latter.

Try swopping the cartridges from hot to cold and this should give you the answer. :D

Thanks for this.

The tap is fed from the direct mains.
