Bannister spindle replacement

Hello

I'm thinking about replacing the original spindles on my staircase, at the moment they are a mixure of wrought iron and rectangle lengths of softwood. I've seen the spindles that you can buy at B+Q etc but was hoping that there was something a bit more modern than the standard turned type. Has anybody come across a retailer who supplies the above.
