I am building a 3.5 x 6.0 metre workshop. The plan is to lay 100mm (4 inches) MOT Type 1 Hardcore, a layer of sand, DPM, then a concert slap of 100mm (4 inches).
I came across this video
which sugguest using soil cement or cement-stabilized soil instead of the MOT Type 1 Hardcore. Has anyone tried this method for a workshop or a garden room base?

I saw that video and used it as a top layer to cover some exposed concrete on the bottom of fence posts. It has held firm but is not subject to compression. It is “plastered” on and feels brittle. It still needs mixing so for a bigger job I would just use standard concrete.
For a shed base in the past I have used a lattice of bearers sitting on paving slabs.
Proper DIY is an interest channel but you have to remember social media is increasingly about personalities and “content creation”
