We've had bad wind for a few days and since that started it sounds like wind is getting into my baseboard heater in my bedroom. The wind is coming from the west the direction my bedroom is. Its SOOOO loud it wakes me up in the middle of the night. At low sounds it sounds like a whistle, at its highest it sounds like a bee magnified by 1000. I keep pushing around the vent to see if i can stop it but to no avail. Someone please tell me how to make it stop, it wakes me up 10 times a night!!!!

Its a skirting board heater. My cousin in Toronto has one. Its a single pipe with convector fins inside a low profile box. You can get warm air ones too, but they are a total bu**er to balance!

Welcome to this UK forum, sorry they've been so rude!! You could well have a blocked pipe in your baseboard that's causing it to whine. I know the circulation through your system is a lot higher than what our heating systems run at.

Perhaps you could try Dan Holohans forum, Dan lives in New Jersey & most of the guys on there are very knowledgeable;

Thanks,

Sorry, guess i didnt pay much attention when i woke up this morning and just wanted an answer. I tried to call an HVAC guy, but no one got back to me. Thanks for the information. I will try the other site!
