Basin connected into W.C. waste pipe?

i have my 110mm SVP in the corner of the bathroom, i am looking at putting a 110mm drainage pipe along the floor to my toilet, further along that wall is my basin. Can i connect my basin waste (40mm) into the end of the w.c. waste (110mm) - if so, how???

i hope you can visualise my situation and i am sure it not the first time this scenario has come up! thanks for help in advance...

Forgive my ignorance---why not?

EDIT!!! - i have seen that the connection of the smaller pipe goes uphill!!! can i do that but in reverse - obviously!

I mean is that the type of connection i need - only done correctly?

That is what I had in mind in post #3 the I remembered the connector in post #10.
Either way will do.

Rubber push fit and not suitable for what you want to do.
