Just a quick technical question.

In the downstairs loo the basin waste runs out through the external wall in 32mm solvent weld pipe and into a boss as seen here:

Looks ugly as hell outside the front door so if possible I would like to attach into the toilet waste internally.

Currently the toilet outlet looks like this:

I was wondering if I could remove the toilet coupling and add something like:

with a blanking bung in the top hole and connect the toilet and basin waste to it.

I'm guessing I can't do this as flushing the loo would trash the seal in the basin waste, is there any way around that or is it not likely to happen? The basin is around 2.2m away in pipe length from the current toilet outlet if that makes any difference.

You can get toilet waste fittings that have a 32mm waste connection on them. A lot easier.

I was looking for one of those but couldn't see one. Any idea where to buy from or just head off down the plumbers merchant?

City Plumbing do them, which is a national chain. I think but don't quote me on it that the company that make them is Marlowe

No probs with back syphoning at all. The height of the basin and the drop to the toilet has never made it an issue for me.
