It’s the silver bit that needs to be replaced. But want it to connect into the existing overflow stick thing. What overflow fitting are you referring to ?
By the way the blue seal on the waste pipe is fitted back to front .
You wouldn't need any other "kit" to fit the replacement waste.

That's not an overflow as per @terryplumb it's part of the popup waste connected to the tap. Like for like or silicone seal the small hole at the tap or change the tap too. It’s the silver bit that needs to be replaced. But want it to connect into the existing overflow stick thing.
Ah, I get it now. That's not an overflow as per @terryplumb it's part of the popup waste connected to the tap. Like for like or silicone seal the small hole at the tap or change the tap too.

You can, but then if you get a leak, make sure you remember to check that area tooAh, I get it now.
Can I leave this bit (circled in black) hanging under the sink and fit a normal push waste? Won’t need to silicone the tap hole then, if I’ve understood correctly.

Sorry which area do I check for future leaks? You can, but then if you get a leak, make sure you remember to check that area too

The bit you're leaving dangling. It's only using a o-ring - tap end. Should be fine, just to make you aware is allSorry which area do I check for future leaks?
But I’m not changing anything at the tap end. This piece will be dangling under the basin but connected to the tap as it was. Are they normally prone to leaking as I’m not increasing that risk? The bit you're leaving dangling. It's only using a o-ring - tap end. Should be fine, just to make you aware is all

No not normally prone to leaks. As I said, should be fine. But I’m not changing anything at the tap end. This piece will be dangling under the basin but connected to the tap as it was. Are they normally prone to leaking as I’m not increasing that risk?
