Hi all

please see attached photos which hopefully show the issue better. Essentially the shower hose which attaches to the back of the bath mixer taps appears to have snapped off. Any ideas what I need to do to fix this? The flat is actually sold so I need to sort this before completion.

many thanks

Jack

I think the only fix for that is a new tap I'm afraid. Looks like the metal casting has snapped off.

No, if you can turn off the water, open the taps downstairs to let the water out, undo the nuts, clean everything, put new tap on with new washers and do the nuts up again.
Then you dont need a plumber.

My wife would have a go at changing a tap.

Although if you messed up you may need one to fix it :)

Hmm I live in a flat so I’ll have to try find out how to turn the water off

If you live in a flat and there's any doubt whether you can do it then leave it to a professional, last thing you want is a mistake to cause a flood that'll head down.

Replacing that tap could be a pain, depends how much space there is & how easy it is to get under the bath.
One very shoddy option would be chemical metal or araldite or maybe even gorilla glue. If any of the above hold for a test then joy joy and have baths til you move out, at which point it becomes SEP
