I have a mixer bath tap which has a shower hose attachment
There is a divertor that diverts the water to the shower

Recently the hose started leaking, so I replaced it
However, since that time, the shower divertor has not worked fully:
some of the water is still coming out of the bath tap

It's difficult to estimate, but I guess around 20% to 25% is going through the tap

The divertor mechanism is an annular ring just below where the hose is attached.
To divert to the shower, the ring is pulled upwards.
If I try and forcibly pull the ring up, water still comes out of the tap

Does anyone know if this can be repaired, or is it likely that the situation will get worse - and I will eventually have to replace the taps

Thanks for reading and any help

It can come apart  There are 2 Flats across the bottom of the diverter for a thin open ended spanner - Unscrews anti - clockwise ( normal thread)
