Hi all. I'm trying to fit a McAlpine self-closing waste to a free standing bath as a standard bath u-trap is too deep and it obstructs the floor.

The issue is that I have to use a euro waste adapter because the thread on the existing bath waste matches that on the trap. So this pushes the self-closing waste down further and makes it sit below the bottom extreme of the bath by about 5mm.

Can anyone please advise what the best solution would be? I've considered replacing the bath waste itself so I don't need to use the euro adapter which might help. Just never replaced a bath waste before - I'm just not sure why mine seems to have a non-standard thread size for connecting to the traps.

regards,
Lee

I would try to undo the white plastic part of the waste, looks like an adapter already? It does look like a bath trap would fit, failing this, maybe a hepvo valve?
