bath waste pipe thumping noise

I just had a new bathroom fitted. I found that there is a thumping noise from the waste pipes of both sink and bath when the water drains away. The noise sounds every 3 seconds or so continuously and lasts until 30 sec after the water completely drains.

Any cause of this? DO I need to have it fixed?
