The extract fan in our bathroom runs directly through the roof space and up through a hole in the pitched roof. When it rains the water comes through into the bathroom and forms a little puddle on the floor (nice!). I am trying to get hold of some kind of a cover to place on the top of the duct at roof level to prevent the rain coming through but can't find anything. The diameter of the duct is 10cm. (We do not have the option of rerouting it through an external wall as the room os inboard).

I would appreciate any advice on this.

Thanks

Try installing 2 bends on top of the existing pipe in an upside U shape and this will cure the problem

Yes, I see. I will look into that. Appreciate you taking the time to respond.

you need a 110mm plastic vent cowl.

Thanks noseall. That is exactly what I had in mind but I didn't know what to call it.

Cheers!
