What is the best thing to cover a bathroom floor?

I was thinking tiles but I am not sure.

easy to "install" water proof, fits under the bathroom door

I just used cushioned vinyl. Cheap. Relatively easy to lay (but watch the way the corners eat up the surplus) and warm underfoot. And like lino it goes under the door.
