We have been lucky enough to buy an old house in France. There is a small box room upstairs housing the balon- water heater/ tank that we are thinking of turning into a bathroom. After initial conversations with our plumber we have decided to put in a pod shower to eliminate the need for tiling. I intend to varnish the wooden floor and paint the walls. My question is- is the moisture/ damp resistant/anti mould type paint suitable for painting over the old lining paper on the walls and can I use it on the wooden beamed ceilings- all of the reviews for these products seem to assume you will be painting onto plaster board? Damp is an issue in the house- lack of ventilation and being unlived in and unheated, although not in this room and keen to keep it this way.
Any tips gratefully received.
