Bathroom question.

Hi, Ive recently had a small fully tiled internal bathroom ceiling skimmed to remove the artex and ive got a nice flat surface. The orginal emulsion was peeling badly from both the artex and the coving. I installed a new ventaxia fan to help moisture, The celing has been PVA'd and skimmed, and the coving has been rubbbed down to remove the flaky paint.

Im not sure which paint to finish on now thou. Ive mistcoated and painted the ceiling for now in Supermatt, and its a lovely flat finish. However the coving is wood. I dont really want a sheen finish to any of it and the bathroom paint is a soft sheen, but im confused becasue if the supermatt is porous, would it not lett water pass through the paint and stop it peeling or flaking off, or am i better to paint the whole thing now with a bathroom moisture/mould resistant paint? I suppose ideally I leave the ceiling supermatt and buzz round the coving in a bathroom paint to seal the wood. Would the supermatt fall off eventually thou if not protected or would it breathe?

You need to cover the supermatt as it is porous ..Use vinyl matt or or for a long-life durable finish an oil/solvent-based eggshell

Thankyou for the advice. Ive actually got some Dulux Bathroom paint already so am gonna use that rather than spend 2 hours getting to B&Queue.. Im sure a solvent based paint would offer better protection and seems strange that a water reisistant paint can be water based!?
