Bathroom Stage 2 - Tiled Floor

I'm at stage 2 in Refurbing my Bathroom.

I've recently replaced the bath with a shower cubicle and now wanting to lay a tiled floor.

The bathroom floor on the 1st floor is 18mm ply and wanting to lay 13"sq. tiles.

Should I first lay Hardboard on the floor to tile on or lay the tiles direct on the ply.

Utterly - you need to tell us what type of tiles. Ceramic, porcelain, vinyl, cork, etc. - different ways of installing.

Sorry, they are Ceramic tiles of the same thickness as wall tiles ( approx 8mm ).
