Hello all,
first post here so sorry if this is wrong or not enough info.

Issue: The bathroom water temp is very low, slightly warm (not cold) for both sink tap and the shower.

The temperature in the kitchen is fine from the sink tap (very hot to touch!)

I have the latest nest thermostat installed (3rd Gen) on a GREENSTAR 24i Junior boiler.

The boiler has the blue light on constantly and the nest has the 1 green light on.

The gas hob works fine and all 4 rings have fire coming out

This is a single floor flat - bathroom and kitchen are next door to each other.

note: there is no dial on the boiler to increase the temperature of the water, only the rads.

SOrry, I should have asked "does the blue light, which is constant mean there is an issue"

i have turned hte boiler on and off, also done a reset and ive turned on and off at the mains.

Blue light is always constant however

How long has it been doing it,and how old is the boiler. What happens if you turn the bathroom taps down to half way.

It’s been a good few weeks now!

So turn the taps on just half flow, not full sorry?

Combi boilers work by heating the water as it flows through it, and in the winter when the water is colder, you need to run it slower to get it to warm the colder water, but you should have experienced that sort of issue before Christmas.

It's a bit odd that it's just started happening, especially as the kitchen is okay, so that suggests the boiler is working. It could be that the heat exchanger is getting furred up, and needs descaling.

thanks Doggit

its both the bathroom sink and the shower btw - would that still point to the heat exchanger

As the kitchen is fine, then yes, it would. Fill a 1 litre jug, and time how may seconds it takes to fill; that'll give you the flow rate. (all three taps)

What’s TMV sorry?

The bathroom has all been fine for the last 4 years that it’s been built

Thermostatic mixer valve. Did you try running basin tap at half open as suggested earlier ? If people ask you questions and you don't respond ,they tend to give up on trying to help you ,feeling ignored.

If it's only built 4 years ago it will have a mixing valve. Take the panel off the bath or look in the airing cupboard, maybe it's been adjusted.

ok
will try and find where that might be! thank you

A TMV mixes hot and cold water to make sure it doesn't scald and (elderly) person. If this has failed, it could be letting too much cold water through, or shutting the hot water down to keep it safe. If it's not hidden behind the washand basin, then it's verly likely under the bath - or it could be in cupboard etc etc etc

This is what you're looking for.
