Dear All

My Bathroom Towel radiator has suddenly gone cold yet all the other radiators are piping hot!

We have a Valliant Eco Tech Boiler with Magna Clean.

It is a sealed system, not sure why this has stopped working all of a sudden?

Any ideas / suggestions greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Has someone closed one or both of the valves? You'd be surprised at how often that's the case.
Is the rad hot at the bottom but cold at the top? if so it will need venting.
Do you have a TRV on the rad? the pin under the head can stick. Try a gentle wiggle with a pair of pliers.
Try turning other rads off and see if flow to the towel rad is restored. This could signify an air lock and allowing the pump to work on just that rad can push the airlock through. The system may need balancing but that's unlikely if it used to work fine and suddenly stopped.

Hi Elkato531

Yes tried that BUT Radiator still stays stone cold, even the inlet and outlet pipes are cold!!!

Close both valves on the towel rad ,open the air bleed and let water flow until it ceases to flow. Close the air bleed valve.
Open the left valve and then open the bleed valve ,water should stream out constantly from the bleed valve.
Close the left valve and the bleed valve.
Check system pressure and top up if less than 1 bar.
Open right hand valve and bleed valve ,again water should flow out constantly. Close bleed valve.
If water doesn't flow out CONSTANTLY during both tests their is a blocked pipe or valve.

Hi All

Yes did not do anything and yes do have a Hot Water Cylinder.

Hi All

Bathroom towel rails are sometimes plumbed to heat up while the cylinder is being heated. Rather than when the CH is on.

This is typically during and after a bath or shower, which is an ideal time.
