Bauwer Light and other insulated renders

Hi folks,
I'm planning on internally insulating one of my ground floor, external walls of my c. 1903 South Wales terrace, and have come across insulated renders like Bauwer Light. Has anyone got any experience in using these? Is it that important to allow old walls like I have to breath?
