Baxi 105e problem

and by the way its right that both microswitches need to operate.
just clean the plate out with brick acid no need to buy new one

Swapped heat plate with my old one (had no problems in old boiler)but no difference !swapped all sensors (3 of them) and still the same!
Temp goes right up and thermo cutout shut boiler down
Its as if there is not a fast enough water flow over the burners. But according to the neons all is well!
Guess I can try cleaning out be heat exchanger but not optimistic!
Also the burners are making a slight chuffing noise

clean the plate first no point putting another old one straight in , there is also a simple adjustment that could cause it but not allowed to tell you

Would have thought it would be better to get a gas multipoint water heater. Much simpler beast if all you want to do is heat water. Buying a combi means you've got something more complicated than you need, and more to go wrong.

Not recommending it, but they are available cheaply second hand.

Why. He's already have A boiler ;). You need a engineer or a new plate or overheat stat ( long shot as you already have part ) as mentioned above

Engineer is out of question im afraid couldnt afford call out!
Only reason got another combi is so that it would just be a connect up and use (well that was the theory!)
Simple adjustment but cant tell me??
Well ive stripped 75% of it down already so I guess I will find it in the end
(Only adjustable seems to be the modulator
But I will keep searching)
Thank you all for your help and advice and I understand that advising novices could end in disaster but I am competent with gas and electric . Ex handyman and car mechanic. Never paid anyone to do anything for 40 years and dont intend to start now!
Its just trying to work out what part does what!!
But its great to be able to get help from you guys
Thanks

but I am competent with gas
how ?? if you was you wouldn't be asking ;) . hey at least your a handyman and car mechanic :ROFLMAO: . stop being a tight arse and do yourself a favour and get someone in ;):)

Difference between tight and skint! Guess you never knew what its like to have no money. Lucky you!. Was a time I would have made the same crass comment, when running my own garage,in me ivory tower. But when the missus leaves you to bring up a baby on your own things dont go so well
But I just scrape by (without lowering myself to sign on!)
And only asking to save me time figuring out every element of the combi boiler. Knowledge that I dont expect to use again in my lifetime! Now if only they did a haynes manual!!

Now I'll ask another question
Should the burner always be on full inferno!
Even for a drizzle of water?? (Or do I have to pop round to my sisters to look at her boiler?

I will answer my own question

No it should not be on full blast
It sounds to me like its a fault with the modulator (since you have checked the thermistors)

Better find out what voltage is going through I think!

No offence meant ! But I think im winning now!
Thank you again to all that offered sound advice

Flashb , the domestic hot water plate heat exchanger and the primary heat exchanger are two different things. Have you changed the correct one ? When you turn on a hot water tap the mains cold water runs through the plate hex ,but does not mix with the hot water that the burner is heating ,via the primary heat exchanger ,that also runs thru the plate hex .they have separate waterways ,which are very narrow and can block easily ,especially on the primary side .take the plate hex to a tap and run water thru ,tap it lightly with a block of wood . if you see lots of bits if black stuff coming out ,it needs cleaning thoroughly. The restriction of the waterways causes it to get too hot and the safety circuit intervenes and shuts down the burner.the cold water still running thru cools it quickly ,thus the burner re ignites ,at fairly high level and the process starts all over again. Rule this out before you go any further mate.
