I was recently called out to this boiler with a complaint of loud banging noise and quickly diagnosed problem as actuator head jumping repeatedly due to diverter being stuck. Was going to replace the cartridge but also wanted a new actuator in case old one was knackered due to jumping ( all this happened between christmas and new year ). the price for cartridge and actuator was about £20 cheaper than a new diverter valve which comes with valve body and head so decided to go down this route to hopefully save trips back and forth to suppliers.
When i had fitted the new parts with new o rings supplied, the bottom connection to ch union keeps leaking and nothing i do seems to stop it. Even swapping diverter valve for new one made no difference.
The old valve was brass and new one is plastic. Any ideas anyone? Really wished i'd just replaced cartridge.
