Can anyone offer advice please? Boiler (10 years old) was making a thump on firing up. It was thoroughly serviced a month or so ago, and seal replaced (it had blown out at one corner), which improved things, but it is again firing up with quite a wallop. Don't want it to die on us in this weather!

Burner may be damaged or electrode fault.Either way engineer required as it is almost certainly gas related parts at fault.
